St. Peter's Church Slinfold

About St. Peter's

Welcome to St. Peter's website! Our church (like any church) is a community of people with one thing in common: our love for Jesus Christ. We try as best we can to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Our regular Sunday services happen at 8:00am (a service of Holy Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays), and weekly at 9:30am (format varies from week to week). Occasionally there are changes to these times.
Aside from our Sunday worship, we have a home group, jointly with St. Nicolas Itchingfield, which you can join, a midweek service at 10:00am most Thursdays, and all sorts of other activities!
In all that we do, our aim is simple: to share God's love and do his work in this community. You'll always be very welcome to join in!

The church is open to all for private prayer, everyday between 10am and 4pm

Latest News

We are delighted to announce that the Reverend John Gay will receive the Bishop of Chichester's Licence and begin his ministry here as Rector of Itchingfield with Slinfold on Tuesday 15th June 2010.
John Gay has been Curate at St. George's, Wilton, near Taunton for the last 4 years. He is 51, and has a wide experience of life, was brought up on a farm, has worked in industry, and has spent 14 years as a carpenter in France prior to entering the Ministry.
He and his wife, Lucy, have 2 children Mihret, and Dagme.
His Service of Collation and Induction will be held at Slinfold St. Peter at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 15th June
John says, 'I am impressed by the lively nature of this benefice. Lots of things go on here, both from a church-based point of view and that of the wider community. I sense a strong desire of the churches to be at the heart of what is going on around. I am very mission-minded and particularly about getting the 'Church' out of the building and among the people again, rather than merely maintaining the status quo. One cannot do this without getting beside people wherever they are and where the opportunity offers itself. I think there is an exciting opportunity to do this in this benefice.
I enjoy varied work and there seems to be plenty of that to be had in this benefice! Worship of both a traditional and contemporary nature I find attractive, and not all in church either. I enjoy working with young people, so to work with the various schools and youth groups would be both interesting and fun. I like people and the size of the population is small enough to get to know a good many of them. I note the desire of both parishes to encourage more families and young people to faith and involvement in church life. I'm for that, and new older members too!'
